6 Products I Can't Travel Without

Hello friends,

Today I'm writing from Huntington Beach, California where I'm visiting my best friend for an overdue vacation. We both flew out of Minneapolis on Monday and have been making the most of our time together. I absolutely adore Alyssa! Not only is she the best when it comes to showing me unconditional love and support, but she is also the best at packing!

Let me illustrate how phenomenal Alyssa is at packing. She arrived at the airport on Monday with a small duffle bag that's neatly packed. Then this girl named Allison (me) comes in with an overly packed full-size checked bag and purse that is packed to the rim! What a crazy! I could literally not believe she packed everything she needed into one bag! I am notorious for overpacking but I still couldn't fathom the thought of everything fitting in a carry on...and this got me thinking: what could I live without when traveling?

This is Alyssa! Isn't she stunning?

Seeing Alyssa’s packing method made me realize that I may not have needed to pack as much as I thought. There were just a handful of items and clothing pieces that stood out to me. I may not have been able to fit everything in a carry-on; regardless, I found what I couldn't live without, whether I was packing for a weekend getaway or a month long retreat.

Below I list 6 items that will always show up in one of my bags no matter where I travel:

1. Tom's Fluoride Free Toothpaste

I finally found a toothpaste that does the job without the harsh list of chemicals I can't pronounce. Tom's is my favorite for many reasons. Tom's texture and taste is the most similar to the conventional popular brand we've all used and heard of: Crest. The main difference between them is the harsh list of chemicals. If you're wanting to make a switch to the natural life this may be an easy switch and transition. Oh, and don't worry kids, my dentist approved!

2. Lavender Oil

Ask any one of my friends and they will tell you how obsessed I am with lavender. I usually have a bottle in my purse, makeup bag, and even in my car! This is my go-to oil when I'm looking to find ease on my adventures. I notice it helps me relax before hopping on a plane or tucking myself into an unfamiliar hotel bed. Unlike perfume, the scent is very light and most people won't be bothered by it...even when you get that beautiful middle-seat!

3.PUR Spearmint Gum

Goodbye aspartame and refined sugars! Not only does PUR come in an amazing resealable bag that makes it easy to pack, but the gum itself is made of delicious flavors and clean ingredients! Spearmint is my favorite, but there are many others including a rich chocolate mint! When your ears start to pop, just pop a piece of PUR gum!

4. Mario Badescu Facial Spray

No matter how moisturized my face is, it still tends to get dehydrated when I travel. Mario's facial spray with aloe, herbs, and rosewater is my favorite for some deep rehydration. I use it over makeup to set my minerals or on my bare skin for a radiant glow. It comes in a travel size plastic bottle that makes it easy to throw in any bag. I'm pretty sure I own about 4 bottles, and they are all dispersed in different bags. Oops!

5. Burts Bee's Exfoliating Towelettes

Most days I can't wait to get home/back to my hotel to take my makeup off! Burt's Bee's Peach and Willow Bark Exfoliating Towelettes make it easy. One sheet can take off all of my makeup...including my waterproof mascara! These have been my favorite makeup towelettes for the last 2 years and I love them almost as much as the clean feeling they give me!

6. A Good Book

Books can sometimes be difficult to pack depending on their weight and size, but they are always worth it! I love to read, whether that's on the flight, waiting in the airport, lounging by the pool, or even cuddling up in bed once the night is over, I always find peace in a good book. I recently read "The Universe Has Your Back" by Gabrielle Bernstein. The meditations in this book helped me release some unneeded travel anxiety before getting to the airport. It was definitely the perfect book to pack for my trip.
